J.W. Johnson

J.W. began his career in the entertainment field in 1981 as Managing Partner of The Cottonwood Café, a landmark restaurant/club in the New York City music scene where many local luminaries such as Shawn Colvin, Lisa Loeb, Jesse Harris and Marc Cohn played in the early stages of their career. From 1996-1997, Johnson was Founding/Managing Partner of Hotel Galvez, a prime entertainment destination and oasis for singers/songwriters in New York City’s Lower East Side. In 1998, Johnson was named Director of Operations for Hello Newman, Inc., the parent company of the burgeoning Two Boots restaurant and entertainment empire, in New York, New York. Two years later, in 2000, Johnson was appointed Senior Director, Writer/Publisher Relations for BMI (also in New York, NY), a position he held for five and a half years. At BMI, Johnson worked with such artists as Norah Jones, Vanessa Carlton and Gavin DeGraw.
Peter Lloyd

Peter has been working with songwriters since 1998. He began in the Royalties at Universal Music Publishing and quickly moved into Creative. In 2000, he moved to Deston Songs where he worked with great talent such as Desmond Child, Aldo Nova, Andreas Carlsson and Mark Hudson. In 2004, he made the move to songwriter management at Advanced Alternative Media where he worked with Dr. Luke, Lester Mendez, Scott Cutler & Anne Preven, The Dust Brothers, Jimmy Harry, Shep Solomon, and Junior Sanchez. Throughout his career he has helped procure cuts with Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, Lindsay Lohan, Backstreet Boys, etc.
Manny Lorenzo

Manny joined Razor & Tie in 2006 as the director of music licensing. He handles the creative licensing efforts for all film, television, advertising and new media projects. Manny was previously the director of music licensing for TVT Records.
Marty Gottesman
(Director/Administration and Royalties)
Marty came to Razor & Tie in 2003 and oversees the administration of our copyrights including various types of licensing, registrations, royalties and tracking. He previously held positions in licensing and royalties at TVT Records and Pandisc/Kriztal Entertainment in Miami.
Heather Weisberg
(Manager/Music Licensing)
Heather began her career in the music industry as a College Marketing Rep for Atlantic Records, while still a student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After moving to New York in 2005, she worked her way up to becoming Executive Producer at a boutique, music production company, RMI Music. While there, she worked with world-renown composer, Robert Miller, producing original music on commercials such as Verizon, Planters, Travelers Insurance, Jeep, etc. She also helped to create and develop a music sub-division, Lucid Music, overseeing a select group of up-and-coming composers. During her two year stay at RMI, she soon gained a strong interest in music publishing and supervision. Heather joined Razor and Tie in January, 2008 as the music licensing manager for advertising/commercials.
Mary Rahmani
(Creative Coordinator, Music Publishing)
Having recently relocated from Los Angeles to NYC, Mary joined Razor & Tie in the summer of 2008. She has worked for major labels such as Virgin, Astralwerks, Sony, Interscope and Geffen Records and will be bringing her experience with creative, marketing, artist development and management to Razor & Tie’s publishing, licensing and A/R divisions.
